Privacy policy

TapText stores your shortcuts on your device. It has no user accounts, developer-operated analytics, advertising, or tracking.

Information stored on your device

Shortcut labels, text, categories, settings, and imported photos or GIFs are stored locally in TapText's shared app container so the companion app, custom keyboard, and Share extension can use the same configuration. The developer does not operate a server that receives this content or your keyboard input.

You can delete individual shortcuts inside TapText. Removing TapText removes its locally stored app data according to iOS behavior.

Keyboard, clipboard, and Full Access

TapText reads clipboard or selected text only when you invoke a feature that needs it. Ordinary text shortcuts do not require Full Access. Photo and GIF shortcuts place their selected media on the clipboard so you can paste it into another app.

TapText does not record, transmit, or analyze what you type with other keyboards or in other apps.

Optional GIPHY search

If you choose to search for a GIF, TapText sends your search term directly to GIPHY and registers GIF selection and send interactions using GIPHY's API. GIPHY automatically receives technical request information such as an IP address, device information, the search query, and interaction data, and handles it under the GIPHY Privacy Policy: https://support.giphy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032872931-GIPHY-Privacy-Policy.

TapText does not receive a GIPHY account identity, build a user profile, or use this information to track you. You can avoid contacting GIPHY by using text, choosing media from Photos, or pasting media instead of searching GIPHY.

Purchases

TapText Unlimited is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive or store payment-card details. TapText receives only the purchase entitlement needed to unlock the full version.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

TapText does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. TapText does not sell personal information or use user data for tracking.
